WinPcap: the Free Packet Capture Architecture for Windows. I used it to write my own network wniffer.
A public domain protocol analyzer: useful to see what goes through the network. This free software is really good:
- Easy to use.
- The interface is clear.
- I never had any problem.
A free and really good editor for IT engineer (all you need to write code).
Nice SCP interface for Windows (useful if you need to transfer files between UNIX and Windows system through SCP).
PUTTY: A Free Win32 Telnet/SSH Client.
Active Perl and Active Python: The most famous UNIX scripting languages under Windows.
RGBhex: A simple but convenient way to find hexadecimal color codes for HTML edition.
SmartFTP: The best FTP client I found. It is well integrated to the Windows' look and feel.
TsWebEditor: This free editor allows you to edit fles on a remote server (through FTP). This is really usefull if you need to edit a website hosted on a remote server (that provides FTP access).
Cygwin: All the UNIX tools, but for Windows. It includes the GCC compiler.
Ethereal: A free and really good ethernet sniffer (uses Wincap).
Violet: A free UML editor.
Cooktop: A free XML editor.
GeoHtml: Useful software for HTML image mapping.

Doxygen: Documentation generator for Java and C++ (really good).
LAME: Rip / decode MP3. Command line utility for UNIX or DOS.
Graphviz: Powerful tool for drawing graphs.
Robodoc: Documentation generatoe for almost any languages.
